World Of Terra

The Divine
Brief Faction Overview
The Divine , is one of the 9 playable Factions your character has the options of choosing from. The Divine are heavily located in WhiteStone and Viredda territory in the Avarra continent and the Coven territory in the Therenhal continent.

If your character is Adameic species , royalty by Gods and Goddesses blood does not exist, to be considered royalty as an Adameic character, your character must be one of the equines or their offspring, who originally joined him before the war in the Black Age. Adameic characters in this faction are to ONLY live in Viredda.

This Faction, is simply nobility in the world my dears. The road to the high and mighty lives where you'll never have to worry about where your next meal comes from, and never have to worry about being bored. Nobility, are those who work in the royal households, related to Gods and Goddesses, King's Hands, and other opportunities available to your character.
Members may only have access to this Faction if their character is related in any way shape or form to a God Or Goddess of Terra. This can be cousins, marriage ties, direct offspring, etc. ( Unless Adameic ) Refer to yellow text.
There are a few different twists and bends that shape the Divine faction universally, depending on where you reside is generally the kind of attitude and behaviors your character will likely be made up of in this world. The horses that make up this faction are generally known for their holding near and dear their excessive amounts of riches and partying late into the nights, turning a nose to the needy, commanding their slaves to do their every bidding, and a clear disdain for those not related to the Gods and Goddesses that make up their precious Faction. If you're not royalty, you're seen as barbaric, unholy, and unworthy of even existing. Especially in WhiteStone, where your pedigree is vital to the life you will live there. Speaking of WhiteStone, Divine's who live in this kingdom, are known to indulge in splurging their coin on Harlots, drugs, and grand parties almost day in and day out. If a Divine is so much as to accuse literally anyone of not noble birth that they've been wronged by them, with the current King on the throne, the chances of you being imprisoned or beheaded is almost certain.
On the other hand, Divine's that reside in the Coven have repeatedly been noted throughout history to not take pedigree so damningly , extend their graces to those less fortunate, and to be not so obsessed with materialistic things. It is because of Polos, the founder of the Coven that this attitude is believed to be adopted among those that reside there as the Coven has always been a safe haven for those whom have Magic, in need of refuge, and plenty more, but there will always be a few sticks in the mud who will be expected to be waited on hand and foot. Unlike the muck that are the Divine in WhiteStone, the Coven has a far more just law system and there will be consequences and punishments even to the noble for any crimes or false accusations committed as their Seekers will seek out the truth(s) to such huge claims before punishment is administered.

Divine Titles
Titles, mean everything to this Faction. Your title determines who you are in their classed society and how much power and authority you have in the world to make decisions and have influence in decisions that can be made by your King or Queen. You have your pedigree that ultimately gives you a respectable life, but your Title will determine just how much spotlight is on your character at all times.

ROYAL NOBILITY
King ( WhiteStone Title Only )
The King, is a title held in WhiteStone that is a stallion of divine blood who takes the throne and commands the entire kingdom he rules over. The King will make decisions, easy, challenging, and at times may feel impossible, that will affect those under his rule, or other neighboring nations. While a previous King may have left behind a great impressive legacy to be taken over by the next, the current King who rules can still lead by the previouses King's policies, or he can completely abandoned previous laws, traditions and customs if he so wishes, it may be advised by his council that it's unwise but the King has ultimate say-so in how his kingdom will be ruled.
Lord Seeker ( Coven Title Only )
The title Lord Seekers applies to stallion or mare in the Coven, it is not a gender based title. Whomever is holder of this title is the ruler of the Coven, known in most places the equivalence of King or Queen. A new Lord Seeker has not been named since Polos' disappearance as his aging wife still holds this title and has not found a suitable match yet to take her position. The Lord Seeker controls the kingdom, and ultimately has the Seekers at their disposal as they are sworn to pledge loyalty to any Lord Seeker.
Queen ( WhiteStone Title Only )
The Queen, is normally a mare who will have married the King ruling to get this title in WhiteStone, however, having a Queen as the sole ruler is possible, but unheard of more often than not.

Crowned Prince / Grand Prince ( Coven Title )
The Crowned Prince is the first born son to the ruling King, who will ultimately grow and take the crown and throne when the King or Queen's life has ended. If your character is not the first born to the King and Queen, then they will be known as Prince.

Crowned Princess / Grand Princess ( Coven Title )
The Crowned Princess, is the first born girl to the ruling King, who will ultimately grow and take the crown and throne when the King or Queen's life has ended. If your character is not the first born to the King and Queen, then they will be known as Princess.
The Hand ( WhiteStone Title Only ) / Advisor ( Coven Title )
This is an extremely high honor and a heavy weighing title as the King's Hand, or if a Queen is ruling, known as the Queen's Hand,is the most closest and trusted advisor to the King/Queen, and the only one who has the authority to make decisions on behalf of their King or Queen's name. This title may go to anyone the King or Queen chooses regardless of who they are, meaning they can be from another Faction even not having a drop of noble blood but will be respected as if they are the same because of this title. In the event the King or Queen can't be present in council meetings, the Hand is expected to act on behalf of their King or Queen. The Hand will also serve as a voice for the common people of the kingdom , making sure their opinions, needs, and wants are heard.
Royal Council
Royal Council Members are hand selected by the King or Queen ruling, who will be selected to advise their leader through their reign on multiple decisions regarding the people, battles, marriage arrangements, suggesting new laws, customs, practices and more. They are the busy bodies of the kingdom and keep everything in working order. The council may suggest these recommendations, but only the King or Queen may bring their recommendation into actual practice. The council is also expected to hear the daily complaints of the people and determine what is worthy to be brought to the King or Queen's attention immediately or what they will handle themselves. Members who served the previous King or Queen may still be on this council unless they are personally dismissed by the King or Queen, with certain members however, it may be unwise and lead to a political fallout and may cause undesired consequences which the King or Queen must think about.
Royal Worker
Yes, Divine, even though they are raised with a silver spoon in their mouth and never have to work a day in their lives, may choose to work if they please ! There are such things as Architects, Blacksmiths, Merchants, and other positions available to this Faction, but a Royal Worker works exclusively with the reigning family. This position is not given to just anyone, you usually have to be the best of the best at your craft, and have the favor of a family member. Commoners are sometimes awarded this position, and even though the distaste is obvious towards Commoners, if they are in this position they MUST be treated with the respect that comes along with the title. Keep your eyes posted for entries to this

HIGH NOBILITY
Consort
Consort's are those who are unified in marriage to those of a Royal Nobility title, which usually comes about from political gains by kingdoms who can benefit from each other, or families in important positions who hold a lot of the public eye. Consorts share their spouses status and rank, but ultimately don't have the same power and authority as their spouse. There are instances where outside Factions may be married in for specific reasons, and may cause some controversy with recent times in Terra and the faction racism or nation racism that occurs in the world, so a marriage may be looked down upon, but the spouse MUST be treated with nobility respect.

Lords / Lady's
A Lord, is a title used to address a male stallion, and Lady, addresses a mare. Lords and Lady's make up majority of the Divine Faction as there are many of the Gods and Goddesses children, cousins, etc, who do not have Royal Nobility status, but are just as important because of their noble bloodlines. Lords and Ladies are usually found in Carthago, the golden city in WhiteStone, owning glorious establishments and large pieces of land, and those who prefer a more quieter life, may find themselves in the Coven or the city of Veska, the middle city of WhiteStone . A Knight's spouse will also be given this title because they are married into equivalent respect.
Knight / Dame ( WhiteStone / Viredda title only )
Knights and Dame's are in a Faction of their own, a sub branch of the Divine, as only those with Gods and Goddesses bloodlines may serve in the Order, for now. For more in depth detail, visit the Knight Order page under the Factions tab. A Knight is a title used to address a stallion, and where it is very rare a mare would serve in the Order, if she has the pedigree, she is allowed, and they are given the title Dame.

The Working Class
Choosing to work, while also having the most precious bloodlines in all of Terra does not make your character any lesser of nobility. Rest assure that your character will still have their Lord or Lady title and still be given such respect, working, is ensuring your character peace of mind that their Perri will never run dry, and is an honest way of living! Although you're likely to get a few odd looks as to why it is you're working when you don't have to.

NOTE: You will not put Working Class as your character's title. You will use your character's job! Remember, deciding to make your character have a job does not mean they will not hold Lord, Lady, etc status.

Artisan
Good with your hands, eh ? The job of an Artisan will fit your character's crafty lifestyle perfectly ! Artisans can range from artists, blacksmiths, bookmaker, leather, weapons and armor crafter, jewelers, and plenty more! Open a shop of your craft today!

Draftsmen
See the fancy buildings and bridges and roads you're looking at and walking on? Draftsmen are responsible for that! Draftsmen are responsible for building structures, making bridges, patterns, and are responsible for pretty much anything you see standing or not naturally made. They have a keen eye for detail and a taste for grandiose aesthetics when it comes to building an entire house, or even city!

Sailor
So you fancy the sea does it, calling to you all day? Here's your opportunity to sail the seas and travel all over the continent! Being a Sailor may have duties that include transporting slaves on the seas to their destinations, transporting troops, harboring goods, herbs, any cargo that needs to be transported by sea you'll haul. The life of a Sailor is a dangerous one though as Pirates from the Thieves Guild constantly threaten the seas.

Merchants
Merchants work exclusively with ship captains, artisans, and others far and wide in the world to sell their goods in their shops. Merchants are usually fair with their prices, but some will talk their items up and up in price if they see a sucker. Merchant shops can range from jewelry stands to selling slaves.

LOW CLASS
Love Child
Because we have all ages present in the group, rather than call this title what older members know it to be when a child is born out of wedlock or secrecy, we call them "Love Children". A Love Child comes from the current reigning Monarch, who have had a relation(s) with another mare/stallion out of wedlock, meaning they are not married. He/She who was not born of a legitimate marriage can not succeed to the throne. Love Childs are usually ignored, hidden, looked down upon and turned a blind eye to society & often don't know who their mother/father is, and there are some rare cases where they will know who both their parents are and may even have a relationship with them in secrecy as it's not appropriate.

Slaves
WhiteStone, is a place not too kindly to slaves, and they're lucky if they have an owner that will treat them fairly and give them three squares a day. The Coven, has a strict policy on slaves in which owners must hold a specific standard or risk consequences for abusement even though they own the slave. Slaves are priced by their skill sets, appearance, and lineage. These equines own no rights to themselves, or to anything they may "own" as everything belongs to their master. The duties of a slave can range from labor work, sex work, cooking, cleaning, whatever their owner commands them to do.
Religion
A lot of equines in this faction are preaching to a dead God or one they don't know if they're alive or dead. Majority of the Divine who reside in WhiteStone if they still believe, share the same beliefs and ideologies Ares had while he was alive are what many horses in this faction still believe in, that the Celestic species is the dominant species in the world, better than everyone else simply because of what their pedigree is, the weak should be weeded out so there is more for the strong to flourish in the world. The other remaining usually believe that when Polos returns and takes the one true throne he will restore peace and balance in the world, the Coven, the kingdom he built, he is a prime example. Those who don't believe either one of them may have put their choices in other Gods or Goddesses who they hope return to the world to restore it from this dark time.

If your character is Adameic, they do not believe in the Gods and Goddesses, the elixir the first crop of members drank, has corrupted their minds so much that they blindly believe in Adam, and their children are taught only about Adam and are expected to have their faith in him.
Faction Cultural Notes
-
Majority of this action is extremely prideful in their pedigrees, regardless of historical events involving certain members. ( this also applies for Adameic characters )
-
Love Children are not something to be proud of, they are considered disgraceful and should be left for dead. It is nearly impossible for a love child to claim a rightful title, they would have to commit an outrageous act of bravery to be considered for any change in title.
-
Divines that live in the Avarra continent, usually residing in WhiteStone and Viredda, are known to be snobbish, treat their slaves poorly, hedonistic, overly indulgent, and love grand parties and entertainments. Divines in the East on the Therenhal continent residing in the Coven, are known to be more level headed, while still partaking in luxurious parties and entertainments. Divines in Therenhal will usually treat their slaves with dignity so they last with a long lifespan.
-
In the Avarra continent, any form of homosexuality or sexual identity that is not standard mare or a standard stallion is shunned and will not be tolerated, continual family legacies are very important and chosen sexual identity will be ignored if it is not agreeable in the family. Sexuality in the Therenhal continent however, runs wild and is not discriminated against.
-
Jewelry, shiny metals, and rich fabrics are commonly seen worn on equines since the Divine like to flaunt their wealthiness.
-
Divines who have Magic are tolerated in the Coven but not tolerated in Avarra since the continent is stricken with fear of Magic.
-
Arranged marriages are common in this faction usually to important figures of high and royal nobility to strengthen family bloodlines, secure wealth or land or to ensure alliance with families and surrounding kingdoms.
-
Weddings are extremely luxurious and over the top usually continuing well into the night until guests are stumbling around the streets.
-
Incestrial relationships are not frowned upon in this faction as some families believe in keeping the bloodlines extremely pure.
