The Seekers
Brief Faction Overview
The Seekers, are one of 9 playable Factions your character has the options of choosing from. The Seekers Faction are heavily located in the Therenhal continent since majority stay in their home kingdom the Coven. If you're playing an Adameic character, their homeland will be in the Avarra continent in Viredda where Adam reigns and much of this description does not apply to an Adameic Seeker as they are taught an entirely differently version.

This Faction has always been memorable for their starting roots, their mystery, and their pesky curiosity in various affairs. Because of their curiosity, this kingdom has the best knowledge network in the entire world. The Coven is arguably the best kingdom in the entire world as it boasts with its thriving economy, and harbors the worlds most lethal military; the Seekers.

This Faction used to be a subdivision of the Knight Order Faction when Ares commanded the Order alongside Polos, a handful of members just weren't cutting the expectations of brute strength, physique and force Ares expected of a Knight in his order, instead these members were more witty than they were strong, an opportunity Polos saw, unseen to Ares because of his ignorance. Polos negotiated with Ares that they weren't a complete waste, that they could be used for their impressive intelligence and light hoof agility skills that the other Knights didn't possess. A perfect making for spy networking! Polos took these "throwaways" and taught them his skills, how to properly train in hand to hand combat more advanced than the Order would have taught, how to brew nasty poisons or whatever a job may call for, and how to be in a crowd but yet be unseen all at the same time as if you were never there. What Polos created was a fine tuned assassin who was a shadow on four legs, a spy, a survivalist, a warrior all in one and the many other tricks a Seeker may have up their sleeves. A force Ares severely underestimated. A Seeker since their establishment has been argued to be even better than a Knight as Seeker and Knight and other kingdoms will bicker amongst each other. When tensions flared over the controversy of Mages and their Magic and the Great Purge began, Polos refused to allow his Seekers to take part in the massacre of innocent equines over the fright of Magic, any Seeker partaking faced execution, imprisonment, or exilement. While this was happening Polos was seeking out lands to establish a kingdom of his own, Ares knew perri talked and paid off a few Seekers to spy on Polos and report back to him with any new information. Polos knew Ares had claim over most of the land that didn't already have a King or a Queen ruling it, there was no way he would allow a new kingdom, a threat, be made on his lands. The Seekers would leave the Avarra continent entirely. Polos sailed from the Avarra Continent to the Therenhal Continent and at the time was unexplored land, exactly what he needed. Upon his return to Avarra, it was like it was a whole new world happened in his absence...Who was Ares becoming... Polos was able to get ships to get those who wanted to flee the continent to Therenhal to have a new life, a safe life. Ares declared Polos a traitor to WhiteStone and banished him and his Seekers if they were still in the kingdom by nightfall he'd have them all executed. The Seekers were sworn to protect those behind the walls of the Coven from any harm and have been sworn to do so since. Polos managed to keep the Coven out of the God's War entirely knowing that Ares could not afford to cross an entire continent and spread his numbers thin, Polos took the fight to Ares leaving a few of the best Seekers behind to protect the kingdom, a few was all he knew would be needed to protect an entire kingdom should he and the others not return. While this faction thrived during the war suffering very little loss, instead of rallying and celebrating the end of a war, the ships docked with quiet souls as their Lord Seeker returned in mourning. Polos was never the same after. Life was quiet as society suffered from the effects of the war, the Coven lended as many resources and Seekers as they could possible to help rebuild destroyed environments, structures and homes.

A Seeker's Oath
I Seeker (.) render unconditional obedience to my Lord Seeker whose judgements I will never question.
I dedicate my life to serving my Lord Seeker, my people, protecting ancient secrets and artifacts in the kingdom even if I have to give my life for it.
I must live my life to the fullest, each day must start anew.
Equines are uneducated, they will believe that everything and anything is true, simply because they want it to be, or fear that it's true.
Good intentions can quickly backfire to destruction, which can cause harm, the only counter to this I can instill is knowledge, wisdom, & my guidance while keeping in mind others are uneducated, even then, it can not be good enough.
My blades will never touch the flesh of that of an innocent.
I will defend those who cannot defend themselves.
I will speak the truth at all times, turning my back on the truth, is treason to myself, otherwise I may fall victim to being uneducated betraying everything I believe in because a lie is more convenient than reality.
Forgiveness is key to progress, in the forgiveness I give, there may be more in the forgiveness I receive.
I will be faithful in love, and friendships. Passion rules reasoning over all for better, or for worse.
I will always judge the actions of another and their words, their deeds will cancel any false lies perceived about them, friend or foe.
Laws Of The Coven's Seekers
-
Sexuality of all forms is 100% accepted in this brotherhood as it is in the kingdom, a Seeker is encouraged to be out in the open and true to themselves, and is frowned upon to have negative remarks on the topic. There is no punishable consequences to those who do not think kindly to same sex relationships, they are entitled to their opinions but if physical assault is taken against a fellow Seeker depending on the state of the assault will result in imprisonment for however long the Lord Seeker sees fit, and if the victim has passed from the severity of the assault, can result in execution.
-
All forms of Magic and other abilities possessed by equines will not be discriminated against, Seekers with Magic will be free to use anywhere at any time even when present in other kingdoms who forbid it when under official business.
-
It is the utmost important to avoid any harm to the innocent at all costs. It's understandable that sometimes casualties will happen in situations where it was not unavoidable.. Seekers seek to bring peace and enlightenment providing a true sense of security once their task is complete, but when massacres and unneeded death occurs among the common populace it spreads discord and can give a Seeker a bad rep as a mindless butcher instead of who they're intended to be. Mindless slaughter can result in imprisonment or exilement or complete revokement of the Seeker title.
-
Never compromise the mission, or your fellow Seeker. The actions of one must never bring harm to all. If a Seeker should fail in his or her duty, and was captured or chased, he or she must never commit any action or say anything that could be tied back to the coven, or bring harm to any member of it. Compromisation will result in execution, or imprisonment, and rare occasions the Lord Seeker may choose to revoke rights as a Seeker, or exile the betrayer.
-
Adultery is absolutely unacceptable and will not be tolerated as it violates the Seekers oath. Adultery may result in revokement of Seeker title.
Rank
Lord Seeker
The Lord Seeker can be stallion or mare, this is no gender specific rank. The Lord Seeker, holds dominance not only over the whole kingdom, but also has the Seekers at their full disposal to do as they please with. They are responsible for overseeing the kingdom, the troops both land and sea, and also for the common populace.

Guardian Of Therenhal
The Guardian Of Thernhal is the most noble rank that can be bestowed upon a Seeker. To gain the rank of Guardian Of Therenhal you have to do something pretty impressive for the Lord Seeker to grant you this title, for instance, stopping the end of the world.
Grand Prince
The first born son of the Lord Seeker, contrary to other kingdoms, the Lord Seekers children may NOT end up taking the throne should the Lord Seeker die or step down. Just because you are offspring of the current equine in ruleship, does not mean you are worthy to lead a kingdom, and just because they are a son does not mean they will rule if there is also a daughter born, the Lord Seeker may choose the princess to rule instead.

Grand Princess
The first born daughter of the Lord Seeker, contrary to other kingdoms, the Lord Seekers children may NOT end up taking the throne should the Lord Seeker die or step down. Just because you are offspring of the current equine in ruleship, does not mean you are worthy to lead a kingdom.

Spymaster
Master of spies! The Spymaster is the head advisor in matters concerning intelligence and espionage! Knowing your enemies, and even your allies secrets are very important. The spymaster has multiple equines you never would have guessed from Divine to Commoner to do his/her spying in this huge worldwide network.

Lord Commander
Appointed by the Lord Seeker themselves Lord Commanders are the shining examples of being a Seeker, always showing great potential in their field. They're excellent strategists, undoubtable loyalty, and know how to be effective leaders. Each Commander is responsible for their own company and at all times are responsible for the actions of those in it. Commanders are the most qualified to be in the position they're in and any failures to maintain order, the well being of their troop physically and mentally, catastrophic mission failure, can result in demotion, even imprisonment depending on the severity.

Fleetmaster
Sometimes an equine just yearns to be on the sea instead of the land, and not all battles are always fought on land either. Fleetmasters command entire armadas of ships and live their lives at sea for months on at a time with the finest crews just waiting for the adventures, and sometimes war out on the seas. While Lord Commanders control the armies on land, Fleetmaster have the equivalence in rank but controls all naval operations and are responsible for the well being of their shipmates, maintain order, and lead successful operations. Failure to do so can result in demotion, and catastrophic events out at sea can lead to imprisonment.

Headmaster
Headmasters are for those who have chosen the more educational side of being a Seeker. Headmasters are very important, without them there would be no one to teach at the universities and properly bring up the youths of the kingdom. Equines typically work in classroom environments with all ages, some have their own private studies and are out to make discoveries, some are writers, and some adore literature and may find themselves in the kingdoms massive library. It takes an army to maintain the library alone!

Seeker
Every equine in this faction, is indeed a Seeker. Most will stay at this rank their entire lives, select few go on to command ships and armies, or become even greater. There may even be the next Lord Seeker in this rank.

Trainee
So you think you're cut out to be a Seeker, eh? We'll just see about that. Trainees have hopeful hearts of becoming a honorable Seeker but it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to get there. For some, it can take mere months, but others, sometimes it takes years to get that Seeker title. Trainees will go through intensive education courses at the university to assure proper education, weaponry training, potions, botany, etiquette classes, all these are vital to work towards becoming a Seeker. Your Headmaster will decide when your class is ready to graduate.

Ward
Wards are usually royalty welcomed guests in the covens house by the Lord Seeker, or another high respected family for a variety of reasons, sometimes a ward is being raised by the family for a certain amount of time for whatever the reason it could be war related, perhaps they are furthering their education at the university and have to stay with a family to learn the customs and traditions of their culture, and sometimes being a ward is for unwelcoming reasons, being taken involuntarily in the sense of they are essentially hostages for whatever the reason. Sometimes, for arranged marriages the family may allow the betrothed to be taken in and spend time getting to know his or her future spouse. Other cases of becoming a ward are also for political reasons, as a peace offering one might offer a family member of royal blood as apart of the agreement. They are not hostages, but it is easily felt that way.. They have full rights to be properly spoken to, treated as a royal guest, and may even be treated as apart of the family. Wards are allowed free roam of the kingdom and all its lands, but must NOT return to their homeland as it violates all peace agreements.

Specialities
Scout
Scouts are the most prestige in the coven. They are tasked with patrolling lands beyond the coven walls, dealing in other kingdoms affairs ordered by the Lord Seeker, scouting new territory, and the unexplored, hunting down dangerous equines, taking care of a pesky beast, or discovering new ones, and so much more. It's almost like Scouts never get a chance to rest! Being a Scout is honorable, but also very dangerous as it is mentally and physically demanding

Guardian
Unless instructed to for need of numbers for battle, a Guardian never leaves the kingdom! While Scouts are out for days, weeks, months, even up to years at a time from the coven someone has to watch the kingdom! Guardians never leave the kingdom and deal in the everyday matters of the common folks problems. This isn't a bad position for an equine who prefers to be a homebody.

Assassin
Assassin's take out the kingdoms enemies swift and silently, but also will take care of others enemies for a few pretty pieces of perri. Assassins walk a fine line between what's right and wrong when they're compared to the oath every Seeker must take, are they doing a mission because it's morally right or wrong? Not all the time.. It's simply because they're contracted to do it.
Enchanter
Seekers who possess Magic and are more talented in using their gift than a weapon often become Enchanters, an equine who doesn't possess Magic may also be an Enchanter as the coven has found a way through various potions to mimic the effects of Magic.
Royal Etiquette
-
When the Lord Seeker stands in his/her throne room it is a custom that everyone else follow
-
Bowing and Curtsy is a requirement, stallions are to perform a neck bow and mares will perform curtsy, it is very disrespectful to not perform this small action.
-
Before marrying, one must seek the approval of the Lord Seeker
-
After any meeting or conversation with the Lord Seeker has come to an end, he/she is the first to leave , no one must turn their back to him/her
-
Children in the kingdom must be very respectful of who they're speaking to and are expected to be raised with that idea.
-
A married stallion must always walk a few steps behind his wife
Education
-
The coven has the best known education system in the world, simply because this is the homeland of their beloved Seekers. It has an excellent university, the largest in the world in fact!
